Ammie has lived in Audubon for over 25 years with her husband Matt, and two boys who attend the Audubon Jr/Sr High School. Ammie has a bachelor’s degree in Music Education from Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University and taught music in the Stratford School District for 12 years. Currently she teaches music at the First Presbyterian Preschool in Haddonfield.
Ammie has served on the Board of Education since 2014. This year, she continues to serve as the Vice President and as Chairperson for the Human Resources Committee. Having fulfilled the necessary requirements, Ammie is now recognized as a Certified Board Member by the New Jersey School Boards Association.
In addition to her work on the Board, Ammie is an active participant in the Audubon Jr/Sr High Band Boosters organization, a member of the Special Education Parent Advisory Committee, a member of the Early Childhood Advisory Council and a member of the Pandemic Response Team. When her boys were younger, she was an active member of both the Mansion Avenue School PTA and Haviland Avenue School PTA serving on committees and as a room parent. She is also an active member of her church choir.
As a third-generation teacher, Ammie has always cared passionately about education. Serving on the Board of Education allows her to ensure we have the best possible programs for our students whether their career path is college, the trades or the workforce. It also allows her to support the administration and staff in their endeavor to provide the best learning experiences for all students in Audubon. She is grateful to be able to serve the community of Audubon in this capacity.
