Sandra Allen serves as the Superintendent of Schools for the Audubon Public School District. As the Superintendent, Ms. Allen serves as the Chief School Administrator of the district. She oversees all instruction and programs, fiscal management, governance, operations, and personnel, in accordance with the rules, regulations, and policies of the Board of Education. Ms. Allen was appointed as Audubon’s Superintendent of Schools on May 1, 2024, and began her service on July 1, 2024.
Ms. Allen was born and raised in South Jersey. She went to high school at Paul VI in Haddon Township. She began her collegiate studies at West Virginia University and completed her Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics at the University of Texas - El Paso. She returned to New Jersey and began a career in the business world doing statistical analysis for a telemarketing company. Ms. Allen found this work to be “unfulfilling” so she decided to follow her passion and found a job teaching science and mathematics at Wildwood Catholic High School. While there, she completed the alternative route to teaching program and became a certified K-12 mathematics teacher.
After five years of teaching mathematics and science, Ms. Allen moved on to Oakcrest High School to teach mathematics full-time. While at Oakcrest, she obtained her Masters degree in Educational Leadership from Walden University. From there, she took a position at Bridgeton High School as supervisor of the Math, Science, and Medical (MSM) Academy. Next, Ms. Allen moved up to K-12 supervisor of Math, Science, and Technology (STEM) in the Pennsville School District. After 5 years, she pursued a Director of Curriculum position with Pennsauken Public Schools. From there, she moved over to be the Principal of Phifer Middle School, also in Pennsauken.
Ms. Allen’s wealth of background and experience has prepared her for the position as Superintendent. Her enthusiasm and creativity will assist her with any and all challenges she may encounter in her new position.
Over her 29 years in education, Ms. Allen has several notable accomplishments and contributions in the districts she worked:
