Principal's Post

Welcome back, Mansion Families!

My, has the summer flown by!  I hope you have enjoyed these lazy summer days and have had a chance to rest and recharge.  With a new school year comes the promise of exciting learning experiences: Learning experiences that make us wonder.

There are a number of events and happenings this September, so you'll want to mark your calendar to be sure you won't miss any!

September 6th is OUR FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL!  Report time is no earlier than 8:10 am out on the blacktop.  Please remember that this is a half day dismissal.  Students will be dismissed at 12:45 pm.  There is no lunch served on this day so please bring a snack.

September 7th is our first full day of school.  Breakfast and lunch will be served beginning on this day by our new food service company, Chartwells.

September 19th is our Open House.  Please join us at 7:00 pm for an opportunity to hear about the exciting things we will be doing this year as well as meet your child's teacher, see classrooms, and learn about the academic opportunities for your child.

September 26th is school picture day!  Please note that this is also the picture day for Haviland Avenue School so if you have students in both buildings, you only have to remember ONE date for this event.

Please mark your calendar for our Family Learning Night series this fall!  This is a great opportunity for you to come and talk with the grade level team and hear about the experiences your child will have this coming year.  The event is from 7:00 to 8:15 pm and childcare is provided.  More information about registration will be sent home in the coming weeks.

                September 27th                 Grade 6
                October 4th                       Grade 3
                October 11th                     Grade 5
                October 25th                     Grade 4

As you can tell, we are gearing up for a busy year.  We look forward to working with you and with your child as we journey together in learning.
