Preschool Child Find
Do you have or know a child with a diagnosed or suspected educational disability? Do you have a preschool-age child (three to five years old) who may be experiencing difficulty expressing ideas, understanding simple directions, seeing, hearing, walking, running, or manipulating small objects? Are there medical problems or a confirmed diagnosis of a particular disorder? The Audubon School District offers a continuum of programs to address children’s special education needs. The SHAPE Integrated preschool classes provide eligible students with small group instruction to address developmental delays in addition to opportunities for education and socialization with typical peers. Both elementary schools, as well as the Junior/Senior high school, have programs ranging from in-class resource center support to pull-out resource center instruction to more restrictive self-contained classes. Parents/guardians of children with known or suspected educational disabilities are urged to contact Maria Pousatis, School Social Worker for the Audubon Child Study Team, at 547-7695, ext. 4152. You can also visit the Audubon Child Study Team website for additional information on programs for students with special needs. |
